Bioremediation of nickel from wastewater using immobilized Phanerochaete chyrsosporium biomass

چکیده
Phanerochaete chyrsosporium is a white rot fungus with high heavy metal accumulating ability. In this regard, the present study was planned to assess the Ni (II) remediation potential of live immobilized Phanerochaete chyrsosporium from aqueous solutions as well as from real hazardous effluents. The effects of pH, dose, initial metal concentration, time, temperature etc. on bioremediation potential of Phanerochaete chyrsosporium were investigated in a well stirred batch system. Langmuir and pseudo second order kinetic model fitted well to adsorption data of Ni(II). For regeneration of metal capacity of Phanerochaete chyrsosporium sulphuric acid (0.1 M) was found to be the best desorbing agent.

Biosorption of Lead (II) and Zinc (II) ions by pre-treated biomass of phanerochaete chrysosporium
The biosorption of heavy metals can be an effective process for the removal of such metal ions from aqueous solutions. In this study, the adsorption properties of nonliving biomass of phanerochaete chrysosporium for Pb (II) and Zn (II) were investigated by the use of batch adsorption techniques. The effects of initial metal ion concentration, initial pH, biosorbent concentration, stirring speed...

To improve the removal efficiency of heavy metals from wastewater, the surface of a fungal biomass was modified to obtain a high-capacity biosorbent for Cr(VI) in wastewater. The effects of pH, initial concentration, and sorption time on Cr(VI) removal by polyethylenimine (PEI)-modified Phanerochaete chrysosporium were investigated. The biomass adsorption capacity was significantly dependent on...

Three marine bacteria, Pseudomonas putida PTCC 1664, Bacillus cereus PTTC 1665 and Pseudomonas pseudoalkaligenes PTCC 1666 isolated from the East Anzali wetland sediments of the Caspian Sea, were resistant to heavy metals of Cadmium (Cd), Nickel (Ni) and Vanadium (V). Pseudomonas pseudoalkaligenes PTCC 1666 was found to be resistant to all 3 metals Ni, Cd, V. Heavy metal uptake was determined ...
